New Every Morning | Jay Fesperman (3/3)

Finally, that fruit of the Spirit especially designed for “YOUNG CHRISTIANS” is PATIENCE! Recently, I gave this counsel to a young leader. . .this is excerpted from my letter to him: “You don’t know what God’s call is just yet. HE knows and only He knows. Let Him age you in the place He has hidden you. . .He will bring forth maturity. . . only God can give growth! Chew over each day, man, and get all the taste out of it! Don’t spit it out just because you don’t like its texture. You’re jumping around like a cat on a hot tin roof. Slow down, give God enough time to work into you what He’s calling you to get into.”

Paul said to the church in Ephesus, “God has made known to us the MYSTERY of His WILL.” Now it’s known! It’s no longer a mystery. And what is the ultimate will of God? What’s the purpose of His Word to us? He says it was PURPOSED in CHRIST. “The MYSTERY OF HIS WILL is to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment (we’re getting close to that) to bring all things in heaven AND on earth together under one Head, even Christ.” (Ephesians 1:10).

The Church is not there yet, but if you “YOUNG CHRISTIANS” to whom this letter is addressed will begin the adaptation of the Word of God to your present life-pattern, and let it grow you up into Christ, then the responsible leadership will come forth as the Lord, the Holy Spirit, assimilates the WORD to become flesh to you.

You are coworkers with God the Holy Spirit. Allow God and HIS WORD to do their part! Then when you work out of the enfleshment of His Word to you, the fruit will come forth “a hundred fold”. Working out of the “flesh” without the WORD OF GOD “becoming flesh” is powerless. Hold onto your IDEALISM, young people, but let LIFE in JESUS in the WORD bring forth the REALITY of what LIFE is all about – as God designed it – for the BODY OF CHRIST!
